More small town hospitals are getting MRIs and that is a positive and good thing because MRIs can be used to diagnose many health conditions and help with prevention and treatment for the health of the patient.
Magnetic Resonance Imaging”(MRI) has been used for quite some time and helps to diagnose health concerns of the joints, spine and brain. MRI is also helpful in diagnosing cardiovascular problems such as cardiac tumors, congenital heart disease and aortic dissection. MRIs are also used to evaluate and diagnose other disorders of the heart such as cardiomyopathy and ischemia.
One main reason why MRIs are so popular is that they are detailed and precise. The images that an MRI produce are 3-D images. In addition, an MRI can also detect and locate cardiac tumors”that are quite rare. Also, for children who have congenital heart disease, an MRI can be quite helpful with detection and offering effective ideas for surgical treatment.
MRIs are also popular and extremely helpful when it comes to evaluating “stable” and “vulnerable” plaques. And, MRIs are also valuable when conducting research after angioplasty on identifying a condition known as restenoisis. And some feel that MRIs will eventually replace the x-ray tube when it comes to diagnosis and therapeutic situations. In addition, MRIs does not expose the patient to harmful radiation.
So, if you are suffering from a condition that needs further examination and diagnosis, you may want to consider an MRI.
